Experience Works Recognizes Mt. Pleasant Woman for Outstanding Achievements

Experience Works, a national nonprofit organization, recognizes Billie Wilkins from Mt. Pleasant, Texas with a Shooting Star award for outstanding achievements in serving older workers.

As an employment and training coordinator, Wilkins assists older workers to help them achieve their personal and employment goals through training, coaching, and customized services.

“Billie has made significant contributions in strengthening our organization’s impact and services,” says Sally A. Boofer, Experience Works President and CEO. “Her dedication helps ensure our clients age with dignity and purpose.”

Experience Works provides community service, training, and employment opportunities for individuals age 55 and older. Its largest program, the Senior Community Service Employment Program or SCSEP, operates in 30 states and Puerto Rico, including 142 Texas counties.

The U.S. Department of Labor-funded program offers training and other services as a stepping stone to employment. Wilkins is the local liaison for Bowie, Camp, Cass, Delta, Franklin, Harrison, Hopkins, Lamar, Marion, Morris, Red River, Titus, and Upshur counties.

“Older workers bring great value to today’s workforce,” says Wilkins. “I am very proud to be able to help them reach their full potential and guide them down a path that leads to employment.”
