For the 2016 Cinco de Mayo on the Square, ALAS and the City of Mount Pleasant are bringing you a day full of fun activities to celebrate the diversity in our culture.
ALAS (Amigos Latinos Al Servicios) is a volunteer group of Latino Professionals in Titus County with a vision to empower, promote, advocate, and help identify the needs of the growing Hispanic community in Mt Pleasant and surrounding areas.
ALAS is a community-based organization devoted to strengthening the Latino community through service, education and community events while celebrating the diverse Latino culture. Its goal is to accomplish this through close partnerships with local organizations and businesses that provide services to the Latino community; such as education, financial services, healthcare, housing, and immigration. ALAS’s purpose is to help Latinos achieve their highest potential as contributors to
ALAS has been working closely with the City of Mount Pleasant to help plan and organize the Cinco de Mayo event. This will be the second event as they set out to become a community leader in helping the hispanic youth community, and the City of Mount Pleasant is playing a huge role in making it all possible.
