New sidewalk completed.

The City of Mount Pleasant rebuilt the sidewalk on the east side Madison Street between 2nd and 4th Streets over the weekend.

The left-hand lane of traffic was temporarily closed while the work was underway.

This was the view Wednesday of the completed project, which included the addition of planters.

The City will soon start work on the opposite - west - side of the street.
