Local Law Enforcement Legend Passes Away


Glen Sisk of Mount Pleasant went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 3, 2016. He was born Edwin Glen Sisk on July 15, 1933 in Titus County to Andrew J. and Eltolee (Owens) Sisk.

Sisk honorable served his county in the United States Army. He was a dedicated public servant for the City of Mount Pleasant, serving as a Police Officer, Detective, Assistant Police Chief and Interim Chief of Police. He later served as Municipal Court Judge.

He was a recipient of the Police Shield Award and recently recognized by the City of Mount Pleasant for his long service to the community.

Sisk was a member of the Nevills Chapel Baptist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge of Mount Pleasant # 71, and the Oddfellows.

He leaves his wife of 64 years, Bennie Sisk of Mount Pleasant, and their daughter Carla Sisk Terhune of Anna. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m.Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home.
