Historic plane coming to Mount Pleasant

In 1938 the US Government purchased its first DC-3. Ordered as a 12 passenger VIP transport it was designated a C-41 and assigned to Gen Hap Arnold. Only one C-41 was ever built!

It was based in Washington DC from 1938-1945 and flew about 3000 hours during the war years. It is on its way from Oakland CA to its new home at the Mid America Flight Museum in Mount Pleasant!

It should be landing in Mount Pleasant around 11:30 today (Thursday)! Head out to the airport and watch it come in!
