Eddie Johnson, 62 of England, Arkansas, surrounded by his family, went to heaven April 23, 2016.
Johnson was born October 19, 1954 in Atlanta, Texas. He graduated from Atlanta High School class of 1973, and earned a bachelors and masters degree from North Texas State University.
He served in education for over 30 years. He was a coach in Atlanta, and principal and superintendent in England, Arkansas. He retired at the end of the 2012-2013 school year from the Harts Bluff school district, where he served 16 years, the last 13 as superintendent.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Caroline and Caver Johnson of Atlanta, Aunt Doris and Uncle Ted Smith, and cousin Lesley Smith Foster.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Kathy Johnson and their three daughters Stephanie Cagle, Laura Arvizu, and Amy Johnson, three grandchildren Zoey Johnson, Brice Cagle and Elena Arvizu, his sister Gladys Johnson, cousins Scott and Gloria Smith, Gary and Jill Smith, and Karren Smith-Carrol, and the Daniels family. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Visitation in England, Arkansas, will be Monday, April 25, 2016 from 6 pm to 8 pm at First Baptist Church. Visitation in Atlanta, Texas will be Wednesday, April 27, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, April 28, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Texas, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
