This is an unusual example from our random photo archives where we can tell from evidence in the photo exactly who we have here, and when. Carlos Kidwell was an educator and administrator in the Mount Pleasant ISD for many, many years; his nameplate is on his desk, and because it clearly shows it was his 50th birthday, we know when this photo was taken: Sept. 17, 1985.
Kidwell joined the MPISD as a high school teacher and coach in 1958. In 1970 he became the principal of E.C. Brice Elementary School. In 1974 he became an assistant superintendent for the district, a position he held until his retirement from the district in 1992, after 34 years of service to the MPISD.
He died Feb. 10, 2009, aged 73.
