Cookville VFD plans fundraiser Saturday, March 19

The Cookville Volunteer Fire Department will have its 26th Annual Fundraiser Saturday, March 19th, from noon until 8 p.m. at the Cookville VFD Station. They will be serving beef brisket smoked all evening, as well as pinto beans, homemade potato salad and homemade desserts.

Everyone is welcome; there's no cost, but donations are appreciated. There will be raffle chances for a Remington Model 770 30-.06 with a stainless steel barrel and a Bushnell scope, donated by Gary's Gun & Pawn. Tickets $2 each or 3 for $5. Go by Gary's to see the gun. Buy tickets there or at the fundraiser. Cookville VFD members also have tickets.

There will be a live auction, including homemade pies and cakes. The Air One helicopter and Andy Ambulance will be there for the kids. The Carter Blood Care bus will also be there for interested donors.

There will be a recruitment booth with opportunities for anyone interested in joining the department.
