Man busted for drug charges

On Friday, Jan. 29, Titus County Sheriff’s deputies conducted surveillance in the 500 block of West 17th Street, Mount Pleasant, Texas after receiving information about a methamphetamine dealer.

At approximately 7:05 p.m. deputies made contact with the suspect, Carl Robert Ferrell II, as he approached his vehicle. After an investigation, deputies located methamphetamine in the vehicle controlled by Ferrell.

Deputies also located methamphetamine in the apartment where Ferrell II lives. Ferrell was charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 >4 grams < 200 grams (First Degree Felony) and placed him in the Titus County Jail.

"I would just like to say thank you to the Sheriff’s Office narcotic team for making this bust and keeping methamphetamine dealers off the streets," said Sheriff Tim Ingram. "It’s the dedication and commitment by the Titus County Sheriff’s deputies that I see every day that makes me proud to have them a part of our team. We will continue to do everything within our power to keep this the safest place in Texas to live for our citizens."

An individual adjudged guilty of a felony of the first degree shall be punished by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for life or for any term of not more than 99 years or less than 5 years. In addition to imprisonment, an individual may be punished by a fine not to exceed $10,000.
