Historic competition

These TIGERS competed for the first time (in MPISD history) in TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) events at the state level. They faced judges that would scrutinize and offer constructive feedback to the competitors so they can improve their delivery, presentation, or skill in their event.

Cash Brown, Jessica Williams, Andrea Becerra, Jennifer Mora, Miranda Burson and Rachel Fernandez all competed in one or more of those events.

Junior Andrea Becerra received a notable sized scholarship, first place plaque and a chance to compete in Nationals for her entry in Children’s Literature K-3. Jennifer Mora competed in Teacher Created Materials where she received a blue ribbon (scoring 90 or better) and placed fifth in Lesson Plan and Delivery STEM. Both Juniors competed in National events.

Seniors Cash Brown and Jessica Williams competed in Job Interview while Seniors Rachel Fernandez and Miranda Burson competed in Bulletin Board.

There were two students that took the ELF test or Educational Leadership Fundamentals. Jennifer Mora scored well enough to receive a Silver certificate and Miranda Burson received a Bronze certificate for her efforts in the test as well as a blue ribbon (scoring 90 or better) for her efforts along with Rachel Fernandez in the Bulletin Board Competition.
