Congrats to the Men's basketball team on their victory over Sulphur Springs!


The Mount Pleasant Boys Basketball team completed the season sweep of Sulphur Springs on Friday night with a 68-49 victory at Willie Williams Gym. The Wildcats hung tough through the first as the Tigers saw their halftime lead at 5, 33-28. But a strong defensive third quarter and strong offensive fourth quarter helped the Tigers pull away in the second half.

Leading the Tigers was James Moore with 17 points. Dexter Roberson added 13 points with 11 of those coming in the fourth quarter. Also scoring was Buddy McGill with 8 points, Holden Davis 7 points, Joshua McGill-Spencer 6 points, Jesse Morales 5 points, Keanan Brown 4 points, Justin Zepeda 3 points, Dorian Glinton 3 points, and KJ Cannon 2 points.

The Tigers are now 19-7 on the season and are tied for third in district along with Texas High with a 6-3 record. They will travel to Hallsville Tuesday in a key matchup.

The JV team lost a heartbreaker to Sulphur Springs 34-32. Scorers were Josh Morris 13 points, Joseph Smith 8 points, Kevin Savage 6 points, Jashon Pogue 2 points, Aaron Antone 2 points, and Terrance Allen 1 point.

The Freshmen team also lost to Sulphur Spring 46-36. Leading scorers were Anterius Beard with 17 points, Ricky Guereca 11 points, Marco Orona 5 points, and Destin Steinmetz 3 points.
