Before you cast your vote, come hear from the candidates!

The Titus County Republican Party is holding a Candidate Forum for local contested races on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Mt. Pleasant Civic Center starting at 6:00 p.m.

Candidates in all contested local Republican Primary races have been invited:

* Commissioner, Precinct 1 Mack Love, Jeff Parchman, Al Riddle

* Commissioner, Precinct 3 Dana Applewhite, Gary Murray, Bobby Parr

* Sheriff Tim Ingram, Glenn (Trey) Willis

The commissioner races will go first, followed by the sheriff's race. Candidates running in uncontested races will be introduced at the start of the evening.

Each candidate will be given one minute to introduce himself prior to the question period, and one minute to do a summary at the end. For the question period, each candidate will have two minutes to answer the question; the moderator will rotate the questions on the panels.

Titus County Republican Party Chairman Sue Evenwel will be the moderator; Precinct Chairman Emily Aikman will be timekeeper; Nigel Christopher and Lou Antonelli will screen questions from the audience.

Early voting begins Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Election Office across from the Post Office.
