I-30 Fiery Crash Causes Partial Freeway Shutdown

At 5 AM Saturday morning a tractor trailer crashed on I-30 Freeway at N. Edwards.

The vehicle was traveling eastbound on I-30 when it crossed into the center median sticking the center median cables.

The vehicle broke through the center median cables and ended up on the westbound side of I-30 facing oncoming traffic.

When crossing the center median the tractor gas tanks were ruptured causing the vehicle to catch fire.

The driver was able to escape from the cab and was not injured during the crash or subsequent fire.
TXDOT currently has I-30 westbound closed for cleanup. Westbound traffic is being diverted onto the service road. Expect delays as cleanup continues.
