Aggravated Robbery Arrests

Early Monday morning on Nov. 30 at 12:39 a.m. a male subject wearing a bandana over the lower portion of his face entered into the EZ Mart convenience store located at 1201 East Ferguson Road in Mount Pleasant.

Once inside the business the subject displayed a weapon and demanded money for the store cashier. After robbing the business, the suspect fled on foot, escaping in a waiting vehicle in a nearby neighborhood.

Mount Pleasant Police Department Detectives developed leads on possible suspects involved in the armed robbery and with the assistance of Titus County Sheriff Deputies was able to locate and question 18 year old Juan Jose Ontiverous Jr. of Mount Pleasant. After questioning Ontiveous, he was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Robbery.

A warrant was issued Tuesday for a second suspect involved in this offense. Late Tuesday night 23 year old Jose Luis Martinez Jr of Mount Pleasant was taken into custody by Mount Pleasant Police detectives and officers. Martinez was also charged with Aggravated Robbery.

Both Ontiverous and Martinez are in custody at the Titus County Jail pending arraignment. Bond has not been set for either suspect as of 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
