The Ag Club is excited to host a inventive new contest for fall called the Scarecrow Trail. This is a community service project intended to benefit the Eagle Pantry and promote agriculture. College organizations and groups are encouraged to stretch their imaginations and create a scarecrow representing their group to be displayed on the college small farm beginning October 10th and ending October 31st. The Scarecrow Trail would then be open to tours for the price of admission of a non-perishable food item per participant.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the (1)Most Creative, (2)Best Representational and (3)People’s Choice scarecrows. Entry for each scarecrow is just 10 non-perishable food items for our Eagle Pantry or $10. Guidelines and contest details are attached with the entry form and must be completed before October 10th. We are now open to receive your donations to sponsor our contest and only cash or checks payable to NTCC Ag Club will be collected at NTCC Ag Complex Rene’ McCracken’s office 112 or mailed to NTCC Ag Club 2886 FM 1735, Mt Pleasant, TX 75455. If you would like to sponsor our contest, your donation will go directly towards the prize money for the student organization with the winning entries. Exact prize figures to be determined by the amount of donations received.
You could further help our cause by passing along our information to those who might be interested in sponsoring, building a scarecrow or setting up a tour of our Scarecrow Trail. For more information contact Rene’ McCracken at rmccracken@ntcc.edu or office 903-434-8267. Details on the contest are also listed on our ag webpages at www.ntcc.edu/ag.
