Royal Ward Isbell
A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, Royal Isbell, 84 of Mount Pleasant, Texas & former resident of Magnolia, Texas, passed away at his home August, 16, 2019 with his family present. He had confronted and fought cancer for several years, but the disease finally took hold.
He was born December 31, 1934 in Maypearl, Texas to Ward and LeAnn Stansberry Isbell. After graduating from Maypearl High School he moved to Pasadena, Texas and worked in the Shipping Industry. He later worked for Montgomery Wards in Houston until he retired then drove a school bus for the Magnolia, Texas Independent School District.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie Louise Tamburello Isbell; daughter Paula Burdeaux and husband Steven of Longview, Texas; daughter Sherry Spence and husband John of Austin, Texas; son Wayne Isbell and wife Cherise of Mount Pleasant, Texas; sisters Mary Watson of Ennis, Texas, Gale Heine of Las Vegas, Nevada; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James Adon Isbell of Longview, Texas and Douglas Dale Isbell of Rochester, Minnesota and 1 great grandchild.
A private memorial service will be held with family.
He fought a good fight for many years. He beat the odds for many more. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society by going to their website for Memorial and Honor Giving or by giving to Mount Pleasant Cypress Basin Hospice. Both have been a blessing.
