Volunteer firefighter certification training
This morning, a majority of Titus County Volunteer Firefighters gathered at NTCC to test and certify in Firetruck Driving.
The certification is broken into two classes, Engine/Tanker and the smaller Brush Trucks. There are five skills that must be completed to show each person can maneuver a large vehicle in tight places. More than 50 volunteers attended as required by their insurance Carrier and requirements by the Volunteer Departments.
Pretty simple, if you don’t go through the recetification process every two years you don’t drive. A makeup date will be announced for the few who missed today due to work requirements.
A special Thank You to all the Volunteers from Sugar Hill, Nortex, Talco, Tri-Lakes, Cookville, and Five Star VFD’s for taking time during the weekend to improve their skills.
