Endorsement - Jack is back, and it’s his turn on the city council

There are three candidates running for Place 4 on the Mount Pleasant City Council in the upcoming May 5th election (early in-person voting is already underway).

The incumbent, Tim Dale, has served since November 2011 when he was appointed to a vacancy. We feel it is time for new blood on the council, and Jack Anderson is the candidate to vote for in this race.

Although still young, Anderson has already run for the council a couple of times. He’s gained a lot of experience, and we feel it is time for him to take his place on the board.

Anderson has attended city council meetings for many years – no one is more sincere and serious about serving. He has followed the council’s activities for all those years and will be able to hit the ground running once elected.

He is an average taxpayer and voter who will represent a lot of people on the city council who right now don’t get listened to a lot.

He brings an unbiased attitude and different perspective we sorely need to make the city council truly representative of all the people in Mount Pleasant. He is eager to serve, and the fact he’s bounced back after a couple of losses show he is serious and sincere about serving.

In the past, when he was stacked up against some other candidates, we did not endorse him, but in this election we feel he is the best of the bunch. Times change and the line-up of candidates has changed. We feel this is Jack’s year, and we urge you to support him. He will bring energy and a new perspective to the council which will be of a great benefit to Mount Pleasant.

He used the slogan “Jack is Back” the last time he ran for the council. We are glad he is back, too. We admire his persistence, and hope that after May 5th Jack is Back – for good.
