The employees at Titus County Sheriff's Office are accustomed to wearing many hats. It is not uncommon for them to intervene in the welfare of others, even a little dog like Eli, seen in the photo.
Eli had managed to get away from his owner, a Mount Pleasant resident, and was observed dodging traffic on Van Buren Street. Several deputies and other TCSO staff managed to get Eli - who was wearing his vet tags - to safety. They were able to make contact with a very relieved owner who promptly came and picked up her little dog.
