MPHS would like to thank Coach Lawayne Siegert and Deweyville ISD for the generous donation toward a scholarship for one of its students.
It is proud to award the Coach Angelica Beard/Deweyville ISD Memorial Scholarship to senior Emily Brown. Emily had this to say in her application:
"We run in memory of the beautiful soul Angelica Beard, whose love and commitment continues to inspire me every day. Coach Beard’s sweet voice reminding us to always enjoy and push through our races will stay with me in every race I compete in and to receive an award in memory of this former athlete would mean receiving an opportunity to do what coach Beard would have wanted me to do: receive a higher education in an occupation I’m passionate about and will enjoy. Coach Angelica Beard’s constant reminders to enjoy and put love in everything you do has inspired me to become a selfless and caring person with an aspiration of impacting others’ lives as Angelica has impacted mine."
