MPHS Cheerleaders Receive Awards at UCA Cheer Camp


The Mt. Pleasant High School Cheerleaders attended UCA Camp at Great Wolf Lodge June 27-30 and brought home two spirit sticks, a gold superior ribbon for the sideline cheer and chant, and a gold superior ribbon for the extreme routine.

Tiger Mascot Ariel Parr received the Most Spirited Mascot award on day two of camp and was also chosen as an All-American Mascot. Carly Lewis and Samantha Phillips received the Pin It Forward award for showing leadership skills and standing out during camp.

Presley Jones, Carly Lewis, Shelby Shaw, and Hailey Wright were named All-American Cheerleaders and invited to London for a performance.

On the final day at camp, the cheerleaders competed in the Large Varsity division against nine other high schools, many of them from 6A schools. The MPHS Cheerleaders received 3rd place in the extreme routine competition and placed 4th in the overall game day performance. The MPHS Tiger received the Superior Mascot trophy.

The cheerleaders are under the direction of head coach, Jaton Broach and assistant coach, Stefen Harmon. Congratulations, MPHS Cheerleaders!
