Priefert Manufacturing partners with Northeast Texas Community College for $289,482 job-training grant
Priefert Manufacturing has partnered with Northeast Texas Community College to provide job training for 260 new and incumbent workers using a $289,482 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The grant will benefit workers in the Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas area.
This grant will be used to provide custom training to 260 new and incumbent workers for industry-related topics with focused instruction on forklift operations, welding and craning principles. Trainees will include welders, production floor supervisors and material movers. Upon completion of training, the workers will receive an average wage of $16.77.
On Wednesday, TWC Chairman Andres Alcantar will present a check to representatives from the Northeast Texas Community College and Priefert's at a 3 p.m. ceremony to be held in a second floor conference room at Priefert Manufacturing Co. located at 2630 South Jefferson Ave. in Mt. Pleasant.
