This week the Titus County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a complainant in regards to unauthorized use of a vehicle.
The complainant advised he had received a notice of violation from the City of Cedar Hill (in southwest Dallas County) with a fine of $75.00. This was issued as a result of a traffic camera located at an intersection in Cedar Hill that took a photograph of the complainant’s vehicle failing to stop at a red light on or about October 2, 2015.
The complainant knew he had never been to Cedar Hill and remembered that his vehicle was being repaired in Kirk’s Body Shop - located at 2208 W. Ferguson Road, Mount Pleasant - during that time.
Kirk Michael Bolton, an employee at Kirk's Body Shop, was pulled over in October of this year for traffic violations and gave a fictitious name and information to the deputy because he was wanted for a parole violation.
Shortly after this stop, the deputy learned that the information was fictitious and a warrant was issued for Failure to Identify as Fugitive along with the Parole Warrant.
Investigators found that Kirk’s Body Shop owner Kirk Lance Isbell and his employee, Kirk Michael Bolton, were supposed to be fixing the complainants vehicle, but instead, was using the complainant’s vehicle to travel to Dallas area and Shreveport area to haul other vehicles to used car dealerships. This was all done without the consent of the owners.
On Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 investigators located and questioned both Kirk Lance Isbell and Kirk Michael Bolton. The two were arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and booked into the Titus County Jail.
