Fugitive arrested after calling 911 on himself

Demond Rashard Martin
A Morris County Fugitive was arrested early Saturday morning in the 1000 S. Jefferson in Mount Pleasant after officers responded to a disturbance at the South Jefferson Apartment Complex.

Twenty-five year old Demond Rashard Martin of Dangerfield said he called 911 to report a disturbance.

When officers arrived they found Demond was highly intoxicated. While trying to determine what happened the suspect provided a false name and date of birth to officers.

The investigation revealed that Martin was causing the disturbance and apparently called 911 on himself.

One officer recognized Martin from a wanted poster and confirmed with Martin’s friends his correct name. Strangely enough, when Martin gave the false name, the name he originally provided also had warrants.

Martin was charged with the Morris County Felony Warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Public Intoxication – Class C Misdemeanor, and Failure to Identify Fugitive from Justice – Class A Misdemeanor.

Martin is currently housed in the Titus County Jail.
