Farm attack
Members of the NTCC ag department were dismayed Monday morning to come to the NTCC Farm and find that a dog had dug into the pen and killed five of the broilers that were just about finished growing out, and nearly killed the last surviving turkey.
Due to the attack the turkey sustained injuries that it cannot survive. As a result, they are holding a turkey field dressing class led by instructor Dick McCarver. There will be no fees associated with this course. It will be held beginning at 8 a.m. at the NTCC Ag Complex. For more information Rene McCracken at 903-434-7267 or rmccracken@ntcc.edu.
They set up a live trap, moved the donkey and mule into the poultry yard, and covered the broiler pen to hopefully prevent further attacks. Neighbors have been asked to keep a watchful eye on dogs in the neighborhood.
